Psychoanalysis and Feminism presents a profound and groundbreaking case for Freud’s writing as an indispensable part of feminist thought. As Juliet Mitchell argues, if we are truly interested in understanding and challenging women’s oppression, we cannot ignore psychoanalysis.
Original and provocative, Mitchell’s book remains an essential addition to the feminist canon and a radical re-evaluation of psychoanalytic theory.
