AWARDED SVENSK BOKKONST 2024 – Best Swedish book design
Leif Engström’s work is among the most intriguing and important in a new generation of Swedish painters.
From the publisher:
Leif Engström’s poetic painting captures the mystical qualities of the suburban landscape as well as the dense forest. The works evoke a feeling of melancholy and wonder where the movements of light over city and nature play an important role. In close dialogue with art history, Engström sees himself as an urban explorer. Like a contemporary take on the impressionist flâneur, he finds inspiration in the surroundings of everyday life.
