You did not arrive empty-handed.
Before blade or prayer, before oath or crime, there was a life that shaped the way you endure. They taught you what you could survive, and what you could become. These figures are not destinies. They are what remains when the world has already had its say.
Draw them. Study them. Keep them close. Let them linger in view.
The past does not loosen its grip simply because you refuse to face it.
What is this?
A deck of beginnings. A tactile character background generator. A d20 table made solid. A set of 20 tarot-sized cards. Each card includes:
- A character archetype
- A short atmospheric blurb
- Two tags suggesting the aptitudes of the archetype
They function at the table. They also function outside it.
Printed and assembled by hand. Each card is a bold, self-contained composition that stands on its own as a small art print – something to pin above a desk, keep beside a character sheet, or leave face-up as a quiet reminder of what shaped you. Frame one and place it on your bedside table, if that feels appropriate.
A small collection of difficult lives in the palm of your hand.
