Threshing Day by Rebecca Yarros

The Empyrean · Companion read · Recommended after Onyx Storm

Thirteen cadets. One deadly reckoning. The dragons decide.

At Basgiath War College, wanting to become a dragon rider means nothing until a dragon chooses you. Threshing is where ambition meets fire – and where a single decision can end a life before its next chapter begins.

Return to the brutal trial through thirteen familiar characters, each carrying their own fears, loyalties and reasons to survive. Rivals hunt for an advantage. Trust offers no protection. Above them all, the dragons answer to no one.

Encounter Xaden Riorson, Rhiannon Matthias, Dain Aetos and Liam Mairi, alongside Ridoc Gamlyn, Sawyer Henrick and Garrick Tavis.

Imogen Cardulo, Bodhi Durran, Mira Sorrengail, Brennan Sorrengail, Aaric Graycastle and Sloane Mairi complete this return to a world where earning your wings can demand everything.

For readers already drawn into The Empyrean, this is another reason to linger among its dangerous bonds and unforgettable characters. The illustrated first edition features sixteen original colour illustrations by Joe Requeza and is available for a limited time.

Although it can serve as an introduction, Threshing Day contains spoilers. For the best reading experience, save it until after Onyx Storm.
